The Homburger Kallmuth Silvaner "Asphodill" GG, named after the rare Mediterranean lily species that thrives among the vines in the species-rich vineyards of the Homburger Kallmuth, is the Großes Gewächs (Great Growth) from our heritage-listed terraced vineyard site. This wine tradition dates back to the ancient Romans, who cultivated rare Mediterranean medicinal herbs in the Homburger Kallmuth that have survived to this day. This Großes Gewächs (Great Growth) embodies our highest quality and is characterized by incredible density, elegance, and depth. On the nose, it displays youthful notes of fermented influences, ground caraway, and a hint of braised apricot. On the palate, it impresses with noble restraint, fine extract, and a dry overall appearance. A wine that will still unfold its enjoyable qualities in 20 years.
